Great to meet you!

I am a Psychologist and New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience providing therapy across higher education, community mental health, private practice, and training settings. I have worked extensively with adults, college students, families, and communities navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, identity development, academic stress, trauma, and systemic barriers.

My professional background includes work in college counseling centers, community mental health, domestic violence and trauma-informed settings, multicultural behavioral health clinics, and private practice. This breadth allows me to understand both the personal and systemic factors that shape emotional well-being. Clients often describe me as grounded, thoughtful, direct when needed, and deeply attuned.

My approach to therapy

As a woman of color and a clinician with deep roots in multicultural, immigrant, and urban communities, I bring lived awareness of how culture, race, gender, family systems, spirituality, and socio-economic realities influence mental health. I do not believe therapy happens in a vacuum, our histories, identities, and environments matter.

I approach therapy with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect. Rather than making assumptions, I invite clients to define what feels meaningful, safe, and relevant to them. My work is informed by years of training and practice within diverse communities, and I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and not required to explain or justify their lived experience.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, non-judgmental space where we begin to get to know each other. I will ask about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and any past experiences with counseling. We will also discuss your strengths, challenges, and any immediate concerns.

The first session is not about having everything figured out. Instead, it’s about starting where you are. Together, we will begin shaping goals and determining whether my style feels like a good fit for you. Clients often leave the first session feeling heard, grounded, and clearer about next steps.
