Great to meet you!
Growing up I was extremely curious as to why people do the things they do. I was fairly young when I realized that a lot of people are suffering and live their whole lives that way. I noticed how some people come back stronger after the pain of life, some are persistently stuck in their pain, and many are bogged down by the impossibility of systems. Why this was and how this was became extremely important to me. As I grew older, I became inspired by the idea of bottling up the resiliency of some to share with all and came to value the importance of deeply seeing myself and others. Furthermore, my work and community is influenced by my upbringing including being raised in a mixed ethnic family and by parents who overcame intergenerational trauma.
As a researcher, I am one of the first individuals to empirically study the impact of the troubled teen industry on adult outcomes and I also have a high degree of familiarity with psychological treatment with forensic populations.
