Tabitha Tanabe Yates

I value creating a solid and authentic therapeutic relationship with my clients. My approach is client centered but I also like to get to the deep work. We won't spend a lot of time talking about the day to day, because it is time for you to heal. My favorite modality to use is Internal Family Systems (IFS) while also incorporating EMDR to help with unresolved traumas/wounds. My style is spiritual and holistic. A lot of our sessions will be spent working with your inner emotional world.

We will spend the first couple of sessions building a therapeutic relationship where you will share what brought you to therapy and about any other information you think is important for me to learn. I will ask questions to get to know you better and provide some education on attachment styles, the modalities I use, and offer coping tools. You and I will dig into your past to see what emotional wounds are still there and need to be seen, understood, and healed.

You are going to be doing a lot of awesome work with me and your inner world, which is going to eventually lead to healing you have needed. You are the expert in your life, I am the expert in my role, making us a great team to do this work! Before the end of session, I will make sure you are grounded and feeling emotionally regulated as well as remind you about the tools and resources I have shared with you :)
