Great to meet you!

My journey in this field began with a fascination for individual development across the lifespan, particularly in relational and identity formation. I earned my B.S. in Developmental Psychology and Women & Gender Studies, which laid the foundation for my interest in this field. Following my undergraduate studies, I completed two terms of service with AmeriCorps, providing support to individuals and families at Community Resource Centers in California throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area. Through these experiences, I gained valuable insight into how strong communities are built by supporting the well-being of individuals and families. This work ultimately inspired me to pursue an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sonoma State University.

My approach to therapy

My work is rooted in a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based approach. I draw from multiple therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client and couple I work with.

At the core of my practice is Attachment-Focused Psychotherapy, which emphasizes the importance of relationships, emotional safety, and secure connection as the foundation for healing and growth. I integrate this perspective with Client-Centered Therapy, creating a supportive environment where clients feel seen, acknowledged, respected, and empowered to direct their own healing process.

I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address and resolve the lingering effects of trauma and distressing experiences. For couples work, I utilize the Gottman Method, focusing on improving communication, building trust, and strengthening emotional intimacy.

I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional development. I regularly research topics that arise in my work to ensure that my practice remains current, relevant, and responsive to my clients’ needs. I also engage in continuing education and specialized training to deepen my clinical expertise. Recently, I have expanded my knowledge in DBT, EMDR, Gottman Couples Counseling, and Depression within Family Systems, all of which enhance the quality and depth of care I provide.

Together, these approaches allow me to offer therapy that is both insight-oriented and skills-based, helping clients heal from the past, navigate the present, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

My intake process spans four sessions, designed for us to build rapport and establish a foundation for our work together. The first two sessions focus on gathering your historical background through a more directive approach, allowing me to better understand your story. During this time, we begin resourcing and skill-building. By the fourth session, we’ll review a collaboratively developed treatment plan, which will serve as a roadmap to ensure therapy aligns with your goals. Progress is measured through a combination of your own experience in therapy with me, my observations of therapeutic engagement, and the movement towards treatment goals. I enjoy working with individuals who are open to exploring and navigating life’s challenges.
