Great to meet you!

I’m Tahirah Samuels, LCSW-S, a licensed psychotherapist with a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I’ve spent over a decade working in mental health, supporting adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and periods of emotional overwhelm.

My work is shaped by both clinical training and real-world experience. I understand how complex it can feel to hold everything together on the outside while struggling internally—and how important it is to feel genuinely seen and understood in therapy.

I work well with adults who:

Feel emotionally overwhelmed or stuck

Are navigating transitions, loss, or identity shifts

Want practical tools and deeper self-understanding

Are ready to engage honestly in the therapeutic process

My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence so you can navigate life with more clarity and self-trust.

My approach to therapy

I work from a client-centered, collaborative approach. That means I meet you where you are, without judgment, while also helping you gently examine patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

In our work together, we’ll explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviors. I integrate evidence-based strategies such as cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-informed techniques, tailoring each session to your specific needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Clients often describe my style as calm, direct, and supportive. I believe therapy should feel both safe and purposeful—offering space to reflect while also helping you move forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a conversation, not a test or an interrogation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you’d like to see change. You don’t need to have the “right words”—part of my role is helping you make sense of what you’re feeling.

Together, we’ll begin identifying themes, strengths, and initial goals. Many clients leave the first session feeling more grounded, clearer in their thinking, and hopeful about next steps.
