Great to meet you!

Hi there, I'm Dr. Talia Banayan. I'm educated as a clinical psychologist with high end training across focus areas such as trauma psychology, health psychology, and infant/child developmental psychology. I trained to receive a wide range of tools in evidence-based approaches so that I can customize your treatment to your specific needs. We are dynamic humans with beautiful intersections that cultivate our wellbeing and all components of our life need to be addressed to sustain our greatest growth.

My approach to therapy

While I've been trained in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, Prolonged Exposure, Somatic Experiencing, Child Parent Psychotherapy, and more; what clients truly feel from me is my approach from an Emotion Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic perspective. This means that what you will feel is a warm, emotionally grounded space, where we explore and understand the culture you grew up with while I am integrating the scientific theory behind the scenes to make sure you are getting a high-quality experience.

What you can expect from me

In the first session the primary goal is to begin to understand your experience. You are coming into therapy for a reason and my question for you will be "why now?" What is it about what you're experiencing at this point in your life that made you say additional support is needed. By answering this question, I can assist you in exploring various domains of your life that may be contributing to the issue and together we can discover the root cause and how you would like to move forward with that new understanding.
