Great to meet you!

Tally has nearly 20 years experience practicing mental health with a vast array of client populations and needs. She takes great pride helping clients manage depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, and navigating major life changes. She enjoys working with adults navigating a major change, or processing past trauma. She also has 14 years of experience providing affirming care to the LGBTQ+ community, and enjoys supporting her clients' journeys.

My approach to therapy

Tally primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches in therapy. This allows clients to recognize their impulsive responses to certain triggers, understand their origins, and then shape their thoughts and behaviors in healthy ways. Tally also incorporates aspects of DBT, Art, Creative Journaling, and Mindfulness into her work as is beneficial to the client. She believes a collaborative approach with her clients is best for building trust and rapport, and encourages clients to be engaged in the process of building their treatment goals and plans.

What you can expect from me

Tally believes the best therapy happens when there is a strong relationship foundation between the client and therapist. She will take the first session or two to get to know her client's whole story with warmth, empathy, and quite a bit of humor. As she recognizes therapeutic needs arise within the conversational session style, she will explore the subject with the client and create a goal around it, provided the client agrees this is a topic they would like to prioritize.
