Great to meet you!

It takes bravery!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and I believe confronting and processing your past can be one of the hardest, yet worthwhile first steps for a person to take in their life. I've practiced for 5 years as an LPC and I've felt honored to be alongside many individuals as they approach their fears to gradually live a more fulfilling life. Currently, my main focus are ages 13+ who struggle with self-esteem, identity issues, anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, and men/women issues.

My approach to therapy

Narrative theory is rooted in the belief that people are not "crazy," "unchangeable," or "problematic" creatures as it honors the distinction that lies in meeting a person separately from the parts of their story with inflexible beliefs that makes living increasingly difficult for them. As a counselor, I take narrative theory to heart since there are many elements of it that I love as it considers culture, politics, and the true values and interests of a person that may lay deep within just waiting to be discovered. I realize that narrative theory does not house all the answers or interventions that can be useful to clients, but it welcomes the use of other interventions.

What you can expect from me

As a counselor, my mind would naturally want to know what negative core beliefs are rampaging in the client's life to the point that they lead to self-sabotaging behavior, and how does the person's lived experiences favor their preferred narrative or how the person wants to live their life. What matters the most in counseling is that the interventions best suit the clients, so I would happily shift my mind to another theoretical intervention if it works better for them. However, narrative therapy will always be important to my core as a counselor and I hope to continue exploring different avenues of a client's narrative to help them uncover a more favorable and fulfilling preferred narrative.
