Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Tamara Fields, LMHC. It's nice to meet you.

I hold an Education Specialist degree in Leadership and a dual-track Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Professional School Counseling. My background spans various fields including:

mental health (including: ADHD; anxiety; depression; addictions with co-morbidity; grief/loss; crisis intervention; and adolescents/family/couples);

education, learning, & change management;

and economic & workforce development.

When I am not in the office, you can usually find me swimming, kayaking, whitewater rafting, hiking, lazing at the beach or poolside, attending a theatrical production (and occasionally performing in one!), or simply spending time with my family. Balance and self-care - regardless of profession - is important!

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and honest; I firmly believe growth is achieved first through establishing healthy relationships, and my goal is to support your learning process as you explore, heal, and succeed.

I guide those I work with to be honest with themselves; sometimes this can feel...uncomfortable. However, you can rest assured that as a caring, helping professional in your corner, I keep your safety and comfort at the forefront of my approach. Whether through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Mindfulness Practices, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, or myriad other approaches, we will work at your pace to set and achieve your goals.

Regardless of what drives you to pursue therapy, you are in the right place...especially if you really want to see positive changes in your life. If you are ready to take the next step, please reach out to me.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will drive conversation with the intention to get to know you. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which you feel comfortable sharing your feelings and concerns, and help you identify goals of our time working together.
