Great to meet you!

I am an experienced psychotherapist with a passion to help individuals in their healing journey, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. My area of expertise is trauma recovery. I strive to create safe environments for clients to explore their experiences while supporting them in building fulfilling lives. I earned my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2009.

My approach to therapy

Understanding and connection, in addition to knowledge, are crucial to effective mental health treatment. From the initial session, my approach is to thoughtfully listen to my clients and allow them to share at their own pace. My style is informal, aiming to create a comfortable atmosphere while adhering to professional and ethical standards. I adopt an empowering approach, recognizing each person as the expert of their own life and providing tools and guidance to help them improve their well-being.

What you can expect from me

During sessions we will develop a plan together on the goals that you would like to achieve. Together we will decide what you need from me. For example, it may be that you need to listened to and validated, or to gather information, or that you need to learn specific skills for a situation, or even to get feedback on specific issues. I will also respectfully offer different perspectives to consider as I support you in building a life worth living.
