Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Tamara Muller, a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. I provide psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults, with a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. My areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood disorders.

I understand how mental health challenges can affect school, work, relationships, confidence, family life, and everyday functioning. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where patients feel heard and families feel included when appropriate.

I take time to understand the whole person not just the diagnosis—and work collaboratively with each patient and family to develop an individualized treatment plan based on their needs, goals, and progress.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I work with children, adolescents, and adults to understand not only their symptoms, but also how those symptoms affect school, work, relationships, family life, and everyday functioning.

I use evidence-based psychiatric care with a focus on thoughtful medication management, education, and supportive interventions. When working with younger patients, I value collaboration with parents or guardians while also creating a space where the child or adolescent feels heard and involved in their care.

I believe treatment works best when patients and families understand their options and feel comfortable asking questions. Together, we develop a treatment plan based on each patient’s individual needs, goals, and progress.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, I take time to understand what brings you to care, your current concerns, medical and mental health history, medications, sleep, daily functioning, relationships, and treatment goals. We will also discuss how your symptoms are affecting school, work, home life, or other important areas of functioning.

For children and adolescents, parents or guardians are an important part of the evaluation, while I also make sure the young person has an opportunity to feel heard and involved in the conversation.

At the end of the evaluation, we will discuss my clinical impressions and review treatment options together. If medication is recommended, I will explain the potential benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives so that we can make an informed decision together. My goal is for you to leave the first visit feeling heard, informed, and clear about the next steps.
