Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Tameka, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who graduated from Westfield State University. For anyone beginning or continuing therapy, the search for a new therapist can be daunting. I aim to provide a warm, authentic, and welcoming space for all to feel comfortable engaging in the therapeutic process. I believe in collaboration, as it is my role to walk alongside you in your journey. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported as they work through their goals.

With over four years of experience in crisis settings, I have worked with a wide array of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction, psychosis, suicidal ideation, and non-suicidal self-injury. I currently support adults through life transitions, anxiety, adjustment disorder, and relational issues. Collaboratively we can identify what optimal functioning looks like and how we can move towards that goal during our work together. My approach is eclectic and will be customized to meet each individual’s needs.

I welcome free 15-minute consultations to determine if I am the right fit for you. My goal is to provide accessible mental health support where individuals can find some relief and build the skills and confidence that you seek.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic and focuses on each individual. Motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and CBT are often used during sessions. While I do not offer a full DBT protocol, I may pull in aspects to help with distress tolerance.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will ask you questions about why you are seeking therapy, how long your concerns have been going on, and what you are looking for in terms of support. The first session will also give you an opportunity to ask me questions about the process and my experience to determine if you feel like I am the right it for your needs. Together, we will then work on making a treatment plan that is tailored to you and will guide our work together.
