Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Tamie and I have been in the mental health field for about 13 years. Over the years I have worked with children, adults, and couples. I understand that often it is difficult for people to understand the reasons for their thoughts and feelings. Therapy is an experience that allows the individual to unburden their thoughts and feelings so that they can develop a better understanding of their needs and develop steps to meet their goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to attain an understanding of what the person wants or needs and then assist them in developing a plan to move forward. I use techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, strength based therapy, and rational emotive behavioral therapy.

What you can expect from me

My approach is to make sure that at the end of the first session I have a good understanding of what a person wants or needs. My goal is to make sure that the person has some coping strategies to assist in managing what they are feeling and a basic knowledge of the steps that they will be taking as we move through future counseling sessions.
