Tamika Veal

I am the owner of Love is Kind Counseling Services, LLC and hold a MS degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. I hold a BS degree in Psychology from The University of Georgia in Athens, GA. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (License # LPC012688) in Georgia with 8 years of experience counseling clients with a wide-range of issues such as depression, post-traumatic stress, grief, relationship issues, anger management, among many other mental health issues. I specialize in treating individuals with difficulties effectively communicating their needs within their relationships with partners, relatives, friends, children, etc. with an emphasis on assertiveness training for building and nurturing long-lasting interpersonal relationships. I also specialize in treating symptoms of depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.

I serve teens/adolescents and adults 13-65+.

I am interested in using specific modalities to treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which understands how your cognitions affect your mood and behaviors which determines how you feel & act. I use other evidenced-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Techniques for promoting insight.

At your initial counseling session, I intend to ask questions to understand your primary needs for mental health treatment and I will formulate your treatment plan and diagnosis(es) for tracking your mental health progress and ensuring a high standard quality of care with the objective of helping you accomplish your mental health goals in mind.
