Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Tamira and I am an honest, down to earth Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist. I am passionate about empowering my clients to find their inner strengths and motivating them to make substantial, long-term changes in their lives. I'm a graduate of the SUNY Stony Brook Social Work Program and have continued to build my clinical skills to better serve my clients at a variety of training programs, including the Ackerman Institute for the Family.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic because I believe different clients require different approaches. However, I always work from a strengths based perspective and primarily use both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. I have worked for over 10 years with a variety of age groups; and have assisted clients who have depression, anxiety, familial/relational issues and history of trauma.

What you can expect from me

I am committed to starting wherever my client is at. It is your story, your journey, and therefore we will go at your own pace. I understand reaching out for help may be scary, so just know that we all are human, and the nature of the human experience is that, at some point, we may need to reach out for a little assistance with our mental health just as we would with our physical health.

Every individual has value, strength and is "imperfectly perfect" in their own way.
