Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Tammara Lewis, owner of Mariposa Awakening Therapy Services and Clinical Director at Marriage and Family Services in Plantation, FL. I’m a board-certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL), Licensed Professional Counselor (GA, TX, and SC), and a Qualified Supervisor in Florida for Registered Mental Health Counselor and Marriage & Family Therapist Interns. I’m also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and a Solution-Focused Coach. With a Master’s and Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University and over a decade of experience, I’m deeply committed to helping individuals and families heal, grow, and find hope through life’s challenges.

I support individuals, couples, and families with compassion, care, and understanding. As a military veteran, I bring personal insight and a strong sense of empathy to my work with fellow veterans and their families. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to pursue personal growth, I’m here to walk alongside you with patience and respect.

My approach to therapy

My approach is faith-based and integrative, drawing from family systems theory, CBT, trauma-informed care, solution-focused techniques, and client-centered practices. I believe healing is a collaborative journey, and my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll get to know each other. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain due to anxiety, depression, life stressors, relationship concerns, grief, or trauma. Together, we’ll identify the concerns you’d like to address and begin setting goals for therapy. I use a compassionate, person-centered, and integrative approach to help you tap into your strengths, build insight, and move toward healing and growth.
