Great to meet you!

My name is Tammy Jo, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 18 years of combined experience as an LSW and LCSW, supporting individuals and families through challenging times. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, trauma, and family-related concerns. While I help individuals address relationship and family issues, I do not provide couples counseling.

I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported; not judged or reduced to a diagnosis or set of scores. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, straightforward, and empathetic. Together, we will focus on YOUR goals and the changes that are most meaningful to you.

My strengths include developing trusting therapeutic relationships, helping clients better understand emotional and relationship patterns, and supporting clients as they build practical coping skills, establish healthier boundaries, and increase their confidence. I will meet you where you are and work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable, supportive, and productive.

My approach to therapy

I use a client centered strengths-based and trauma-informed approach which recognizes your resilience, abilities, and capacity for personal growth. Depending on your individual needs, I may incorporate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Positive Psychology, Problem-Solving Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brought you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, supports, and what you hope to accomplish. You do not need to share everything at once—we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

We will begin identifying your goals and discuss which treatment approaches may best meet your individual needs. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions, share any concerns, and decide whether you feel that I am a good fit for you. My goal is to create a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and supported from the very beginning.
