Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Dr. Tammy McClain, but you can call me Tammy. I am a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience working with a variety of mental health challenges. I have a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio (1995) and specialize in Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma. I am looking forward to working with you.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I use primarily Cognitive Behavioral Treatment with a trauma-focused approach. I think its important to consider how you are thinking, feeling, and behaving and to make adjustments in each area to help you to improve your self-esteem and self care. I use a person centered and trauma-focused approach because you know yourself and your history better than anyone, and I respect what you bring to the conversation.

What you can expect from our first session

My clients typically feel better after we talk. We spend the first session building rapport by you sharing your story, and I like to go at your pace. You can share information as you feel comfortable and as you learn to trust me. I often provide clients with work that they can do between sessions to help them feel better.
