Tammy Payne

Hi, my name is Tammy Payne. I’m an LCSW with over 20 years of therapeutic experience. I provide therapeutic telehealth services in the state of NJ. I currently provide individual therapy to adults who are experiencing a variety of interpersonal issues that may be affecting their day-to-day life.

My approach to therapy is a collaborative one, you are in charge, and I am here to help guide you to meeting the goals you set. I believe in resolving the most pressing issues first but then taking the time out to find out why these issues occur in your life. This may involve exploring the past so that we can prevent the issues from reoccurring in the future. I believe in creating a safe, warm, empathetic, inclusive, non judgmental environment so that the healing process can start on the inside. Some of the therapeutic techniques we will use to help you are, CBT, DBT, and Psychodynamic.

I typically work with clients who are feeling anxious, depressed, have experienced trauma, or infertility issues, going through significant life events such as the loss of a family member or loved one, experiencing divorce, or infertility issues. I believe in being empathetic, authentic, and direct. Therapy with me is an interactive experience. I'm not the type of therapist that just nods their head.
