Great to meet you!

I am a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor with nearly 20 years of experience in the eating disorders field. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master’s in Psychology, and a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies, which allows me to integrate clinical practice with research-informed care. I previously worked with the Eating Disorders Program at the University of North Carolina and have contributed to numerous research studies focused on eating disorders and treatment development.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, anxiety disorders, and the emotional and psychological impacts of weight- and health-related treatments, including surgery and medication. My work is grounded in a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) framework that emphasizes body acceptance, compassion, and sustainable well-being. I also support couples and families navigating the challenges that arise when a loved one is struggling, and I enjoy working with clients managing life transitions and the stressors of everyday life.

I am committed to guiding clients across the lifespan, with a particular focus on early intervention for children and teens to promote long-term recovery. I tailor treatment to each client’s needs using evidence-based approaches, including CBT, CBT-E, DBT, IFS, FBT, and ACT, with the goal of helping clients heal, build resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting to know you and to help me understand your concerns and what you hope will change. We’ll talk about your current challenges, relevant history, and what support might feel most helpful. You’ll also have time to ask questions about the therapy process. You can share as much or as little as you want, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and respectful.
