Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I specializes in trauma, grief, loss, parenting, women's issues, depression, anxiety and family stabilization. I have worked in community health for the past 12 years, working with children, adolescents and families to strengthen and stabilize the family unit and work toward wellness. Prior to working in community mental health, I spent over 20 years working with with women and families teaching and leading groups. I am a wife, mother and now a grandmother ... one of my favorite roles to date!

My approach to therapy

I believe that every individual is valuable, has unique giftings, and has a story worth hearing. Realizing that life is challenging at every stage, having the privilege to connect with clients to work together toward solutions is an honor. I utilize evidenced based practices, such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing. At clients request, I will also engage in dialogue around Christianity or biblical principals as a vessel to help walk through their journey toward healing.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really for us to get to know each other. I realize it is a big step for someone to decide to ask for help and it's really scary, so it's ok to take it slow. Be gentle on yourself and recognize that everyone feels nervous. I will do my best to ease your worries and make you feel comfortable. Let me know what you need.
