Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Tandrea Elmore, and I am honored to support you as you begin or continue your counseling journey. I believe that seeking help is a courageous step, and I am committed to providing a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can work toward healing and personal growth. I have over 20 years of experience in working with children and families, but I have been a licensed counselor for almost 8 years.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Auburn University, a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Community Agency Counseling from Troy University, and a Doctor of Education from Northcentral University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified School Counselor, and Certified Vocational Forensic Evaluator. These credentials, combined with my experience, allow me to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to each client's unique needs.

My mission is to help individuals achieve greater mental and emotional wellness. As a dedicated therapist, I am passionate about promoting both mental and physical well-being and empowering clients to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience. I believe it is okay to not be okay—but you do not have to stay there.

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, life transitions, and overall mental and emotional wellness. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing, balance, and a healthier, more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a problem-solving framework. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and build practical coping strategies that support lasting change. Together, we focus on understanding current challenges, setting achievable goals, and creating effective solutions that empower clients to navigate life's obstacles with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

During your first therapy session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and confidential environment where we begin getting to know one another. This initial session is an opportunity for me to learn about your background, current concerns, and the experiences that have brought you to counseling. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of the process, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing at your own pace.

Together, we will discuss your strengths, challenges, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. We will work collaboratively to identify meaningful treatment goals and develop a personalized plan that aligns with your needs and supports your journey toward improved mental and emotional well-being. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling understood, supported, and encouraged about the path ahead.
