Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Tanee' Garrison, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I earned my degree in Social Work from Kean University and have experience working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, family conflict, child-parent relationship challenges, and adolescent behavioral and emotional concerns.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic approaches, and strengths-based interventions. I believe in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward meaningful personal growth.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, healing from trauma, navigating family or relationship difficulties, supporting your child through emotional challenges, grief, loss of independence or seeking greater confidence and self-understanding, I am committed to helping you identify your strengths and achieve your goals.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing, resilience, and lasting positive change

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, respect, and a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

I take a client-centered approach, recognizing that each person has unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I work alongside clients to identify challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and build on their existing strengths to promote healing and personal growth.

My clinical approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), psychodynamic techniques, and strengths-based interventions. I help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while also exploring how past experiences may influence current patterns and relationships.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and your goals for treatment. I will ask questions about your personal history, relationships, strengths, and challenges to gain a better understanding of your unique experiences. Together, we will begin developing a plan that feels supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your needs as we work toward meaningful growth and healing.
