Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Tanisha Sosa, MSN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. I bring over 20 years of nursing experience across emergency, trauma, critical care, and behavioral health settings, which allows me to approach each patient with a well-rounded and thoughtful perspective.

I provide evidence-based psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults, with a focus on conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, and mood disorders. My practice includes comprehensive medication management and solution-focused therapy to support meaningful and practical improvements in daily functioning.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an Adjunct Professor of Nursing, where I mentor future nurses and emphasize strong clinical judgment and compassionate care. I am committed to helping individuals achieve improved mental health, emotional balance, and overall well-being through personalized treatment plans and a supportive therapeutic approach.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, individualized, and goal-oriented. I integrate evidence-based medication management with solution-focused therapy to help patients achieve practical, meaningful improvements in their daily lives. I prioritize building a trusting therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their treatment. Drawing from my diverse clinical background, I assess the whole person—biological, psychological, and social factors—to guide care decisions. I focus on helping patients develop coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall functioning while working together to create realistic and achievable treatment goals.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a thorough, supportive, and collaborative evaluation. I will take time to understand your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, and how your experiences are impacting your daily life. We will discuss your goals for treatment and begin to identify practical, solution-focused strategies to support your mental health. If appropriate, we will also review medication options and develop an initial plan for medication management. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care from the very beginning.
