
I was 14 years old when I sat with a therapist for the first time. Finally, I felt like I could speak to somebody without feeling judged or blamed. I can remember experiencing so much relief and thinking "at last, I can just be myself!". Now, after more than 5 years in the field of Mental Health, it is my goal to offer this same, empathic experience to those who are feeling down, stressed out, and hopeful for things to get better.
Our relationship is at the center of my therapeutic approach. When we can trust each other, we can reach your treatment goals much more efficiently and sustainably. I will draw heavily upon cognitive behavioral interventions (CBT), as well as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), solution-focused treatment, and mindfulness, all with the purpose of helping you to reach your unique treatment goals.
The most epic stories include moments of great pain and suffering: encounters with dragons, battles with fierce enemies, and heartbreaking losses. As devastating as these experiences can be, they also have the potential to teach us new skills, lead to meaningful relationships, and ultimately strengthen us to become the heroes of our own stories. It is my hope that, from our time together, you may travel further down the road to healing and that you may feel inspired for all that the next chapter of your story holds for you!
