Tanya is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in both Texas and California and is passionate about working with clients who are facing a wide variety of life’s challenges and transitions. To name just a few, she enjoys helping couples who may be feeling they’ve lost the love and respect in their relationship and don’t know how to get it back, individuals trying to navigate through grief, anxiety, or depression and possibly a painful loss of hope, as well as anyone dealing with personal conflict or confusion about their spirituality or general direction in life.
Tanya is also quite knowledgeable about chronic illnesses and with cancer, in particular, and can often suggest key questions to ask one’s doctor when appropriate. She also incorporates her hypnotherapy skills into sessions at times, which might simply involve gently guiding the client into a relaxed state in which they can more easily access difficult-to-reach feelings and insights.
A humanistic and integrative therapist who is LGBTQ-allied, Tanya works from the heart, and sees each person as unique and important. Though she draws on concepts from a variety of modalities, Tanya believes the most important basis for healing and personal growth in therapy is a trusting relationship between client and therapist. “You don't have to go it alone,” she says. “I work with adults of all ages as well as with couples and am happy to provide a safe space for you to express your thoughts and feelings. We all need help at some point and the opportunity to receive support.”
