Great to meet you!

I have worked in healthcare since I was 16, when I became a CNA. I later joined the military, where I served for four years as a respiratory therapist, including deployment to Afghanistan as an Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) veteran. I then transitioned into nursing and have spent the past 10 years working in critical care.

Through these experiences, I discovered that my true passion lies in understanding the complexities of neuroscience and mental health. I take a trauma-informed approach to care and recognize that every experience we have shapes how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us.

I understand the challenges associated with addiction, ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma bonds, and unhealthy or abusive relationship dynamics, as well as the emotional toll of living in an ever-changing world that often demands more than we feel able to give.

Through my own adversities and professional journey, I’ve learned the importance of balance, self-awareness, and building practical tools for emotional resilience. I believe that while support is essential, we also each hold powerful inner strengths that, when nurtured, can help open the door to greater peace, healing, and freedom.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, trauma-informed, and whole-person focused. I believe that mental health is shaped by a combination of biology, life experiences, relationships, and current stressors, so treatment is never one-size-fits-all. I take time to understand the full picture of what’s going on for you and tailor treatment to your unique needs, goals, and values.

I integrate thoughtful, evidence-based medication management with supportive and skills-based therapy, including CBT-informed and holistic mindfulness-based strategies. I take a conservative approach to prescribing, focusing on the lowest effective dose and avoiding unnecessary medications whenever possible. All treatment decisions are made collaboratively, and I prioritize clear communication so you feel informed and empowered throughout the process.

I also place strong emphasis on emotional regulation, nervous system support, boundaries, and building practical tools you can use in everyday life. My goal is not just symptom reduction, but helping you feel more grounded, resilient, and confident in navigating life’s challenges over the long term.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what’s bringing you in, in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. We’ll review your current concerns, relevant medical and mental health history, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help understand the full picture, but you’re always in control of what and how much you share.

You can expect a calm, respectful, and collaborative conversation rather than an interrogation or checklist. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and supported from the start. If medication is part of your care, we’ll discuss options together, including benefits, risks, and alternatives, so you can make informed decisions without feeling pressured.

By the end of the session, we’ll outline an initial plan and next steps that fit your needs and comfort level. This may include medication recommendations, therapeutic strategies, lifestyle support, or referrals, as appropriate. Even if you’re unsure where to begin, that’s okay. We’ll take it one step at a time and move forward together.
