Great to meet you!

My approach is warm and down-to-earth, while still being a direct and supportive. I’m a therapist who thinks outside-of-the box because you are unique. I continue training in cross-cultural practice and cultural humility to bring to my work with clients who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized populations.

My approach to therapy

As a seasoned therapist, I have many tools up my sleeve. I would never use one modality on every client. I can pull from CBT, ACT, narrative therapy, trauma-informed, art therapy, Solutions Focused and so forth. Let’s talk about your goals and what modality is the right fit for you.

What you can expect from me

The first session is quite structured because I want to understand why you are in counseling. First, I’ll set an agenda so you’ll know what to expect. Second, I will review mandatory reporting laws for your state. Third, I will ask you 50,000 questions, but more like we are just having a conversation. Towards the end, I will ask if the session felt comfortable, did it feel like we “clicked”? I will also tell you if it’s a “click” for me. If not a match, we will talk about next steps. If yes, a click, (cool!), we will talk about a next appointment.
