Great to meet you!

Tara Arevalo is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She attained her FNP from Duke University and PMHNP from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

She is driven by her love of the healthcare profession, helping people and with her empathetic nature she remains steadfast in her abilities and passion.

She is also a proud U.S. Army veteran, Tara served during Operation Enduring Freedom before she decided to become a Nurse Practitioner.

My approach to therapy

As a PMHNP, Tara brings empathy, an easy-going communication style, and a calm demeanor making it easy for her to talk to patients and family members.

Tara is able to prescribe medication in the treatment of mental health, and she has been very successful with the holistic approach of listening and educating the patient before developing a treatment plan, and many times it is a combination of all three that leads to a successful outcome.

What you can expect from me

Tara’s passion for teaching is evident in her practice. She believes each client is the expert on their own life, and she is simply guiding them to access their fullest potential. She will look at the whole client.

Tara is a firm believer that if the patient really understands the treatment plan and why they are taking medications then together the path forward is achieved.
