Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Tara, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and over a decade of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, and I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, self-esteem, relationship and family challenges, and life transitions, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered, with a focus on understanding you as a whole person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I use a trauma-informed lens and draw from approaches including CBT, DBT skills, EMDR, and strengths-based therapy, based on your goals and needs. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build practical coping skills, strengthen relationships and boundaries, and feel more confident moving forward.

What you can expect from me

The first session includes some paperwork and documentation, but it is also a chance for me to learn what brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from it. We’ll discuss what is happening in your life now, as well as past therapy experiences—what was helpful, what wasn’t, and what you would like to be different this time. You are the driver of the bus in our work together; my role is to help guide, offer insight, ask thoughtful questions, and provide tools along the way.
