Dr. Tara Harper has over 30 years of experience as a mental health and substance use clinician. She earned her doctoral degree in Psychology at Northcentral University. Dr. Harper has a rich background in working with adolescents, young adults, couples and families through community-based organizations and schools. Dr. Harper specializes in addressing challenges related to substance use, anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship issues, self-esteem, and trauma. Beyond her clinical responsibilities, she actively contributes to mental health advocacy as a member of the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) Planning Committee and the Black Youth Suicide Workgroup. Additionally, Dr. Harper serves as a board member of the Black Brain Campaign, an advocacy organization dedicated to eradicating mental health stigma in the black community and supporting clinicians of color in obtaining their licenses. Her multifaceted involvement reflects a dedication to fostering positive change in mental health and substance use awareness.

Dr. Harper employs a collaborative, strengths-based approach that empowers individuals, couples, and families to take control of their own lives. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of issues, including substance use, anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship difficulties, self-esteem challenges, and trauma. A certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor in Pennsylvania, Dr. Harper is proficient in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Multi-systemic Therapy (MST).
