Great to meet you!

I affirm your effort to care for your self by seeking the support of a counselor. My work is guided by a profound belief that you have a natural impulse toward self-healing/self-correction when you are adequately supported. I seek to make a genuine connection with you because the therapeutic relationship is key to catalyzing healing change. Through experience, I have come to believe that patients can not only reduce their symptoms, but heal and thrive.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I take a trauma informed approach that promotes resilience, relief from troubling symptoms, effective coping skills, and transformation in intra-personal and interpersonal relationships. I take a healing-oriented, experiential and emotion-focused approach that is evidence based, stemming from a wealth of research on emotions, attachment and neuroscience. Our conversations will be compassionate explorations of your emotions, somatic experiences, and formative experiences with a strengths focus.

What you can expect from our first session

In these uncertain times, having a person listen closely to your experience with empathy and curiosity can help so much with navigating the overwhelm, stress and anxiety getting in the way of your wellbeing. You can expect to gain increased self awareness and self understanding, new ways to relate to your suffering and struggles, and gentle guidance, respect, curiosity and genuine compassion from me.
