Great to meet you!

Tara provides thoughtful, personalized psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults who want to feel heard, understand their treatment, and have a provider who takes the time to see the whole picture.

With a background in both medical and mental health care, including years of experience in high-acuity pediatric settings, Tara brings a compassionate, thorough, and detail-oriented approach to every appointment. She treats ADHD, anxiety, depression and mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, psychotic disorders, and other mental health concerns.

Tara understands that reaching out for psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, particularly if you have struggled to find answers or haven’t felt heard in the past. Her goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where individuals and families can ask questions, better understand what they are experiencing, and feel confident about the path forward.

My approach to therapy

Tara believes the best psychiatric care begins with listening. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or a diagnosis, she takes time to understand each person’s experiences, concerns, daily challenges, relationships, and goals.

Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. She works alongside clients and families to develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, education, lifestyle recommendations, and brief supportive psychotherapy when appropriate.

Tara places a strong emphasis on education and shared decision-making. She explains diagnoses, medications, potential benefits and side effects, and treatment options in clear, understandable language so clients can take an active role in their care. Her goal is for every client to leave feeling heard, supported, and confident about the next steps in treatment.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment with Tara is an opportunity to slow down, talk openly about what has been going on, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing. You can expect a supportive, judgment-free conversation where your concerns are taken seriously and you have time to ask questions.

Tara will review your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, previous treatments, lifestyle, and the challenges affecting your day-to-day life. For children and adolescents, she also values input from parents and caregivers while making sure the young person feels heard and included in the process.

Together, you will discuss possible diagnoses and treatment options and begin developing a personalized plan based on your needs and goals. Tara takes time to explain the “why” behind her recommendations so you leave your first appointment with greater clarity and a clear understanding of what comes next.
