Great to meet you!

Welcome, I would love to be your new individual or family therapist!

My work experience in providing family & individual therapy to teens, their caregivers & to adults spans 20 years. With a BA in Sociology, I assess the importance of culture as defined by one's family culture &/or ethnic makeup as this gives unique insight into emotions, behaviors & relationships. I use Spiritual Social Work to explore how normative or non-normative spiritual beliefs shape who we are. Experience in supervisory leadership helps in supporting professional clients in managing performance and leadership related anxiety. I am also a 'therapist's Therapist'!

The Family Therapy I provide are for teens (13+) and the caregiver(s) or Adult-children and their parent relationship. Due to the intensity of the special care and work that goes into family therapy with being able to process multiple family member's perspectives, I ONLY ACCEPT SELF-PAY RATE FOR FAMILY SESSIONS as insurances unfortunately do not provide a reasonable rate for family therapy sessions.

My approach to therapy

I use a collaborative approach that relies on the client as the "expert" in your direction for treatment. I use a strength-based approach to acknowledge resiliency of life experiences and incorporate homework to reinforce skill development. My therapeutic process is always appropriately matched to the learning styles of my clients. Respect, empathy, compassion, integrity, humor & honesty are a few of the traits used in my therapeutic approach.

What you can expect from me

Feeling empowered as you develop a new awareness about the capacity for holistic growth in understanding your mental health which is NEVER a stigma. Clients can expect to challenge themselves outside of session in changing the paradigm of unhelpful thinking to positive & helpful thinking as positive thinking creates the catalyst for positive behavioral change, positive perceptions about one's self and positive relationships or interactions with others.
