Great to meet you!

I did my education in California and my post graduate work in Hawaii. My training had a heavy emphasis in relationships but my career has been heavily clinical. I have worked in a residential treatment center for substance use as well as eating disorders, a psych hospital, a university, a church counseling center, and private practice shared with psychiatry. Very few topics I am not competent to tackle with you at this point!

My approach to therapy

My approach is to understand the "why" behind your situation and untangle it from the root. I could use many fancy words for the modalities that I use to accomplish this but for me it is all working to understand what in the system is broken and how can we fix it.

What you can expect from me

An intake session is always a bit dry but it is not an accurate representation of what further sessions will be like. Intake is a necessary first step of gathering information before I begin to try to add any insights; think, "getting to know you" interview. It is also a chance for the client to determine the rightness of fit for what they prefer.
