Great to meet you!

www.shinealightinthedark.com.

You’ve been carrying so much for so long. The weight of past trauma, the relentless anxiety, the deep sadness that will not let go — it’s exhausting. Maybe you’ve learned to hide it well, to smile through the pain, to be strong for everyone else. But inside, you are longing for relief, for understanding, for someone to truly see you. You don’t just want to survive — you want to heal, to break free, to finally breathe again, and to reclaim the parts of yourself that pain has tried to silence.

I am a trauma-informed, person-centered therapist with a deep passion for helping people feel truly seen, understood, and supported in their healing journey. My work is shaped by years of walking alongside individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and major life transitions. I specialize in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where your story is honored and your voice is heard — a place where you can process difficult experiences, explore new perspectives, and begin reclaiming your sense of self.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and deeply personalized. I believe every person’s story matters and deserves to be met with respect, curiosity, and care. I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered foundation, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, process difficult emotions, and discover new ways of relating to themselves and the world.

I integrate a variety of evidence-based and creative approaches, including EMDR, trauma-informed expressive arts, somatic practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This flexibility allows me to tailor therapy to each client’s needs — addressing the mind, body, and spirit while building coping tools and fostering resilience.

I hold advanced certifications as a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS), Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP), Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II), Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP), and Certified Mood Disorder Professional (CMDP). I am also currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision to continue expanding my ability to serve clients and contribute to the counseling field.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and empowered with practical tools they can use in daily life. Together, we work toward building emotional resilience, finding healthier ways to cope, and restoring a sense of balance and self-trust. My goal is to help you gain clarity about your experiences, feel more in control of your emotions, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that pain or trauma may have silenced.

The environment I create is safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental — a place where you can speak openly, explore new perspectives, and heal at your own pace. You can expect our work together to be collaborative, tailored to your needs, and focused on helping you create meaningful, lasting change in your life.
