Great to meet you!

I’m Tavleen (Tanya) Sandhu, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy to children, teens, young adults, and adults across California. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and difficult life experiences, self-esteem challenges, relationship and family concerns, emotional regulation, life transitions, and other stressors that can feel overwhelming or hard to manage alone.

I believe that seeking therapy is a sign of strength, and that meaningful change begins with feeling truly seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable being yourself while also gaining insight, building resilience, and making meaningful progress toward the life you want.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and individualized. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed strategies, trauma-informed care, and person-centered and humanistic approaches.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with each client to understand their unique experiences, goals, and strengths. Depending on your needs, therapy may involve learning practical coping skills, exploring patterns of thoughts and behaviors, processing difficult experiences, improving emotional regulation, or developing healthier ways of navigating relationships and life transitions.

I want therapy to feel like a space where you are both supported and encouraged to grow, not judged or told what you “should” be doing.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine how I can best support you. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, what you would like to work on, and what you hope to get out of therapy.

I’ll also ask questions about your background, relationships, current stressors, strengths, and coping strategies so I can better understand the bigger picture. Most importantly, I want you to have space to ask questions and get a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you.

You do not need to have everything figured out before your first session. We can start wherever you are and work together to identify manageable steps toward feeling better and creating meaningful change.
