Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Tawnya, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I previously worked as a school counselor, where I collaborated closely with students and families, giving me a strong understanding of the challenges individuals face across different stages of life.

I work with young adults/adults who feel stuck in patterns, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves and their relationships. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-driven—I’ll help you better understand what’s keeping you stuck while also supporting you in making meaningful, lasting change.

I often draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you build awareness, develop coping tools, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel both supported and gently challenged, so I work to create a space where you feel safe to explore while also helping you move forward.

I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you better understand your thoughts and emotions, develop effective coping strategies, and take steps toward the life you want to live. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, increase self-awareness, and build tools that support lasting change.

I tend to be engaged and interactive in sessions, offering reflection, guidance, and practical strategies you can apply outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where we begin getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping to gain from the process.

I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background and current challenges, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and at ease.

By the end of our session, we’ll begin identifying goals and next steps so you leave with a clearer sense of direction and what working together can look like.
