Great to meet you!

My name is Angie Nielsen and I'm a licensed therapist in Mississippi and Alabama. I have a Bachelor's degree is sociology and Master's degree is Social Work. I have 20+ years of mental health experience including inpatient psychiatric treatment and outpatient therapy.

My approach to therapy

My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles. I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now, and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment.

What you can expect from me

I want my clients to experience a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, empathetic, and a safe place to be themselves and share their journeys. As a therapist, I take the opportunity to provide active listening and offer clients insights into personal experiences, advice on how to handle issues, and evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions such as CBT and DBT.
