Great to meet you!

Much of my doctoral research was related to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, where I found an interest in working with non-birthing parents (fathers, adoptive parents, LGBTQIA+) to help them navigate the stress of parenthood. The mental health experiences of non-birthing parents are often overlooked but so important to acknowledge and treat. I continue my research in this area and am a member of Postpartum Support International KY chapter, where I am an active member of the community. I hold a Doctorate of Social Work and have experience with child welfare, court involvement, and nurturing parenting courses. I am comfortable working with individuals who struggle with intrusive thoughts, suicidal ideations, and substance use.

My approach to therapy

To navigate parenthood stress, it's important to explore your own childhood to find skills you want to exhibit in your own parenting and generational trends you want to break. I have a very direct and challenging approach to help my clients get the most out of therapy when they don't know which issues to discuss or how to discuss them.
