Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 16 years of experience providing therapy to adults and teens with trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My background includes working with homeless Veterans, in residential treatment, outpatient mental health, and private practice.

I am passionate about helping people move past whatever is stopping them from having the quality of life they deserve. I believe, given a comfortable, nurturing atmosphere and a compassionate therapist, growth is not only possible, it is inevitable. Taking the first step, by asking for help, is a courageous choice that can change your life. Working through past painful experiences allows you to gain personal power. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where clients are the experts of their own experiences, and my role is to provide support, guidance, and tools to help them create meaningful change.

I have training and experience in evidenced-based modalities like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing. I specialize in helping clients understand how past experiences shape current patterns and relationships.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, caring, genuine and collaborative, creating a space where clients feel heard and understood. I often use humor, metaphors, and practical examples to make difficult concepts easier to understand and apply. I am accepting and comfortable working with people of all cultures, religions, genders, gender identities, and gender expressions.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming atmosphere, in which I focus on getting to know you and what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to understand what your life has been like, how I can best support you, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We’ll explore your history at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you, discuss any immediate concerns, and identify the strengths and coping skills you already have. Together, we will develop a treatment approach that is personalized to your needs and helps you build insight, coping skills, and confidence moving forward.

I also explain my therapeutic approaches, answer any questions you may have, and work with you to create a plan that feels collaborative. My goal for the first session is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and reassured that you’re in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where healing can begin.
