Great to meet you!

Clients should know that I come to this work not only with professional expertise, but also with deep compassion and lived experience. As a Black woman, mother, and mental health provider, I understand the complex emotional weight that so many of us carry—especially when navigating stress, trauma, identity, and generational challenges. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to create a space where you can feel seen, supported, and safe.

Professionally, I’m a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing and over 20 years of experience in healthcare. My clinical background includes both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, and I’m trained to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of mental health conditions across the lifespan. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions, with a strong focus on working women, college students, Medicaid recipients, and individuals reentering the community after incarceration.

I provide medication management, brief therapy, and holistic, trauma-informed care through a secure telehealth platform—designed to meet you wherever you are, both literally and emotionally. Whether you’re new to mental health care or returning after a break, I want you to know: you don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to listen, support, and help you move forward—on your terms, at your pace.

You are more than a diagnosis. You’re a whole person. And I’m honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and trauma-informed practice. I believe that healing happens when clients feel seen, heard, and respected—so I take the time to truly understand each person’s unique story, background, and goals.

I use a whole-person approach, combining evidence-based psychiatric care with emotional support, education, and empowerment. Whether I’m prescribing medication, offering brief therapy, or simply holding space during a difficult moment, my goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can show up exactly as they are.

I meet clients where they are—literally through telehealth, and emotionally through empathy, respect, and shared decision-making. My care is collaborative, flexible, and personalized, especially for individuals who’ve historically felt overlooked or misunderstood in traditional mental health settings.

At Safe Comfort, care isn’t just clinical—it’s compassion in action

What you can expect from me

During your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we focus on getting to know you—not just your symptoms. We’ll talk about what brings you in, your mental health history, your current challenges, and your goals for treatment. I’ll ask thoughtful questions and give you time to share at your own pace.

We’ll also review any medications you’re currently taking, discuss your past experiences with mental health care (if any), and talk through what support might look like moving forward. My goal is to understand the full picture—not just what’s going wrong, but also what’s going well, and how we can build on your strengths.

By the end of the session, we’ll come up with a personalized care plan together—whether that includes medication, therapy, or referrals to additional resources. You’ll leave with clarity, support, and next steps—not pressure or judgment. Most importantly, I want you to feel heard, safe, and hopeful about your healing journey.
