Great to meet you!

Are you ready to work? I am and for nearly two decades, I've been co-creating 'new starts' in the wake of trauma. Sleep problems, isolation, decreased trust in self and others, a sense of dis-ease, social anxieties, shame, and intimacy issues are a few symptoms of trauma. I've journeyed with many and offer a suite of evidenced-based practices coupled with a warm, down-to-earth and relatable style. Together, we will celebrate your resilience, mourn and reclaim what was lost and establish a comprehensive plan of restoration. If you are ready to walk, grab my hand for the journey.

With that out of the way, I earned my BA in Sociology and Telecommunications in 2001 from IU Bloomington and my Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2008. My expertise is trauma treatment, MH program development, crisis management, case management and coordination.

My approach to therapy

To first establish a 'real' relationship with warmth, genuine acceptance of who you really are and sheer enthusiasm for the opportunity to be on YOUR Team. I believe (wo)mankind has an inherent capacity to self-heal and healing from trauma can be sticky. My expertise is to support you in getting unstuck as we walk through the assessment process together to clarify your presenting concerns. And so begins the journeying alongside my client, following the map we've (co)created-at an appropriate pace that respects the 'climb', as well as your current circumstances. I also encourage group engagement.

What you can expect from me

_a feeling of unconditional positive regard

_education about challenges/diagnosis and increased clarity about their impact

_increased ability to withstand the pains of life

_increased insight into what works and what doesn't

_having an invested witness or cheerleader

_hard laughs and perhaps some tears

_the use of measure-based assessments so clients can 'see' their progress.

_increased self-esteem or sense of self

_ improved relational functioning

_enhanced feelings of safety and trust

_a sense of boldness, as they begin to approach things previously avoided

_a sense of 'feeling lighter'-freeing them up to live a life more consistent with their heart's desires.
