Great to meet you!

I am a firm believer that daily life does not need to include anger, frustration, resentment, and pain. If you find that you or your family seem unhappy more days than not, there is help here! I use a down-to-earth approach to help the individuals, couples, and families I work with to identify the source(s) of their disharmony -- including arguing, anger, grief, health issues, financial struggles, divorce, loss, stress, or ineffective coping skills. From there, we work in collaboration to determine the best and most realistic strategies anyone can employ to better manage their own personal challenges, and final achieving a more fulfilling life and relationships.

I am Licensed in Colorado and South Carolina. I see clients via telehealth in both, and can see clients in person in my Mesa County, Colorado office.

My approach to therapy

There is no single methodology or practice that fits each client's situation perfectly. Humans are complex, and their key relationships are even more complicated. So, I will often use several methodologies in combination while working with each client or family. I have specific training in several evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the one I find most helpful in the majority of relational problems -- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

What you can expect from me

I strive to always balance compassion, validation, and understanding against the need to move beyond the platitudes we often get from others that can keep us stuck in unhealthy or ineffective patterns of behavior. In more plain language -- I will always be kind and gentle with you or your child, but I will also be blunt when the harsh truth is needed to break through an emotional roadblock.
