Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Teresa Draper, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, boundaries, and life transitions. I earned my master’s degree from Capella University and have experience working with clients across a range of clinical settings.

I’m especially passionate about relationship work. I help couples strengthen communication, navigate conflict, rebuild connection, and develop healthier relationship patterns. I also work with engaged and committed couples preparing for marriage and am a Certified SYMBIS Facilitator and Twogether in Texas premarital provider.

Whether you’re coming to therapy individually or with a partner, I believe meaningful change begins with understanding where you are, getting clear about where you want to go, and identifying practical steps to help you move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and solution-focused. I want to understand what brought you to therapy, but I’m equally interested in what you want your life or relationships to look like moving forward.

Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, recognize strengths and strategies that are already working, and identify realistic changes you can begin making. Depending on your needs, our work may include improving communication, strengthening boundaries, developing healthier relationship patterns, managing anxiety or depression, and building greater confidence in how you respond to challenges.

I don’t believe therapy should feel like something being done to you. You’re an active participant in the process, and we’ll work together toward goals that are meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about what’s been happening, how it’s affecting you or your relationships, what you’ve already tried, and what you’d like to be different.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or having everything figured out. We’ll work together to identify your priorities and begin developing goals for our work.

I also want you to have a sense of whether I’m the right therapist for you. By the end of our first few sessions, my goal is for us to clarify what you want to change and how we can begin moving toward it.
