Great to meet you!

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s common to feel overwhelmed and face internal struggles. If you’re looking to regain control, I’m here to help.

Hello, I’m Teresa Hug, a dual board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and acute care practitioner. Throughout my 25 years as a nurse practitioner, I’ve seen how mental health issues often go unrecognized and untreated. This insight motivated me to take action, advancing my career to specialize in mental health care. I am committed to providing the support and interventions necessary to help individuals thrive. My areas of expertise include anxiety, ADHD, depression, excessive worry, and managing life stressors.

Life stressors can stem from various sources, such as relationships, divorce, parenting, work, school, or coping with chronic illness. I am dedicated to supporting you on your journey toward mental well-being.

I believe that physical, mental, and spiritual health are interconnected and play a vital role in our overall well-being.

** Please note that in Texas, nurse practitioners are not authorized to prescribe Schedule II controlled substances, including prescribing stimulants in the treatment of ADHD **

A bit about my approach to therapy

Like any journey, you may face struggles along the way. These challenges can result in feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, guilt, excessive worry, or conflicts in relationships. Acquiring new skills and strategies to cope with these stressors can greatly improve your emotional responses. In addition to medication management, I offer GeneSight DNA testing. I also offer remote computerize testing for ADHD evaluation. Together, we can work toward improving your mental well-being and overall quality of life.

What you can expect from our first session

The goal is to fully embrace life again. Although life is a journey with its ups and downs, there is always hope and promise for the future. One thing we can be sure of is that life is unpredictable, and we all need support at different times.
