Hi, I’m Teresa Smoak, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I am licensed in South Carolina, Georgia, and Arizona. I’ve worked across a variety of settings and supported individuals with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, stress, anger, and symptoms of psychosis. I value meeting clients where they are and providing supportive, collaborative care tailored to their needs.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and person-centered. I believe that working together allows us to support your overall well-being, both mentally and physically. I am committed to treating each person with dignity and respect and strive to provide a space where you feel heard without judgment. I meet you where you are and help you build from there, supporting you in learning how to better manage life’s challenges.
In your first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and empowered as we begin understanding what’s contributing to distress in your life. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, identify what you’d like support with, and begin building insight into your experiences. I strive for each session to leave you with a greater sense of understanding and a practical step or skill you can work on between sessions.
