Great to meet you!

Grief, trauma, and emotional pain can change the way you see yourself, your relationships, and even the world around you. At the same time, anxiety or depression can make moving forward feel harder than you expected, especially when cultural or family experiences add another layer to what you're carrying. Therapy can give you a place to make sense of it all without having to separate one part of yourself from another. I provide individual therapy in English and Spanish for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout Texas, with both virtual and in person options. My primary areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and cultural and ethnic concerns, along with stress management when life's demands begin to feel overwhelming. With five years of experience, my goal is to understand your experiences in context, recognize the strengths you already possess, and help you find a path forward that feels meaningful to you.

My approach to therapy

Your experiences don't happen in isolation, and I don't believe therapy should treat them that way. We'll look at what you're experiencing today while also exploring the relationships, losses, cultural experiences, and difficult events that may have shaped how you think, feel, and respond. Anxiety or depression may become more intense after trauma or grief, while cultural expectations and ongoing stress can influence how you cope, communicate, or understand yourself. Together, we'll explore those connections while keeping our work focused on the changes that matter most to you. I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize and reshape thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress, along with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when difficult experiences continue to affect your life today. Rather than simply talking about what's wrong, we'll identify practical strategies, build on your existing strengths, and work toward solutions that fit your individual needs and circumstances.

What you can expect from me

Our first sessions will give you room to tell your story in your own way and at your own pace. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. From there, we'll identify goals and develop a treatment plan that reflects your needs rather than taking a one size fits all approach. You can expect a respectful, nonjudgmental environment where questions are welcome and your experiences are taken seriously. As therapy progresses, we'll recognize what's changing, adjust our approach when needed, and continue building skills that support you outside of our sessions. My hope is that you leave therapy with greater clarity, healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions, and renewed confidence in your ability to move forward while honoring every part of who you are.
