Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. Upchurch-Butler, a licensed professional counselor with a wealth of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I have a doctorate in counselor education and supervision and specialize in a variety of clinical areas including groups, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationships, substance abuse, ADHD, and adjustment issues. My approach is warm, empathic, and tailored to your unique needs, blending evidence-based techniques with genuine compassion. I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard and empowered to grow. Whether you're facing a tough season or seeking personal growth, I'm here to help.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My counseling approach is warm, direct, and tailored to each client's needs, creating a space where people feel supported while working toward real change. I specialize in helping adults, over 24, navigate life transitions, relationships, and personal growth, while also working with older adults over age 65, to address aging-related challenges, loss, and identity shifts. In addition, I support children and adolescents, ages 14+, struggling with behavioral issues, academic concerns, and emotional regulation, helping them build confidence and coping skills. My style blends evidence-based techniques with a client-centered approach, guiding individuals of all ages toward clarity, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from our first session

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges. I keep things real - no fluff, just honest conversations that lead to meaningful growth. Whether you're working through tough emotions or striving for personal change, I'll be here to guide and encourage you every step of the way.
