Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Terrance Martin, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 7+ years of experience! I've provided psychotherapy for a host of patients impacted by mental health and addiction. As a Black man, I understand and empathize with the unique stressors POC may experience such as a feeling of unworthiness or imposter syndrome, alienation due to the lack of support, feeling overwhelmed or distressed while navigating the professional, often hostile, landscape, and the vicarious trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapy approach is genuine, trauma-informed, and person-centered, focusing on one’s resilience with the goal of holistic healing and wellness. I pull from many theoretical foundations when working with clients. Some techniques center around analyzing your prominent beliefs and ideas and working with you in determining how they may be affecting your behavior.

What you can expect from our first session

I work with clients on identifying innate strengths that can be used to work towards constructing solutions, rather than focusing on problems. I aim to assist clients in increasing their capacity of being mindful and present in response to the distress, equipping them with healthy tools to use in their day-to-day routine. My vast knowledge of community resources that can be used alongside therapy will help you reach your goals.
